Fake 'Employee of the Year' Voting Messages on WhatsApp
A WhatsApp scam poses as a friend asking you to vote for them as 'Employee of the Year.' The link steals your login and hijacks your account.
📩 How It Works:
You receive a message from a friend or colleague, asking for a small favor. The message sounds friendly and familiar – like voting for them in a “Best Employee” contest to help their career.
It may include:
- ✅ Real photos of your friend
- ✅ A convincing story
- ✅ A link to a voting page
The message you receive from a friend looks like this:

🎯 The Trap:
The link takes you to a fake voting website that looks legitimate, as shown in the first image below. To vote, it redirects you to a WhatsApp login page, as seen in the second image. If you log in, the scammers steal your authentication and take over your account—using your identity to spread the scam further.
