Scammers Are Targeting Czech Data Boxes!
In recent days, a new wave of phishing attacks has been spreading via SMS, targeting owners of data boxes in the Czech Republic. Fraudsters are sending SMS messages that at first glance appear to be official messages from data boxes.
What Does the Attack Look Like?
In the latest phishing campaign, scammers are sending out SMS messages with identical or similar wording:

The sender is made to appear as if the SMS comes from the official data mailbox system. In this case, the sender is "Moje DS":

It’s important to note that the link in the SMS points to the fraudulent website mojedatovaschranka.link
. Other scam sites have also been detected, such as:
mojedatovaschranka.icu
mojedatovaschranka.cfd
mojedatovaschranka.ga
The only official data mailbox website is mojedatovaschranka.cz and no other!
The simplest and safest thing to do is to ignore such a message and not click the malicious link!
What Happens If I Click the Link?
To be thorough, here’s what happens and what risks you face if you click the link in the SMS. First, a website appears that closely mimics the design of the official data mailbox website:

Here, the scammers try to trick you into logging in using your Citizen Identity. After clicking, you’re redirected to a page where you choose your bank for login.
For example, let’s choose ČSOB from the list:

At this stage, we’re in the so-called final phase. Below are fake login pages for internet banking. If you enter your username and password here, it goes directly into the hands of scammers.

How to Recognize a Scam SMS or Fake Website?
Here are a few warning signs:
- ⚠️ A link that looks unusual or suspicious, such as
mojedatovaschranka.link
. Always examine the entire link carefully - ⚠️ Urgent or pressuring tone: a call to immediate action that you didn’t expect or that catches you off guard
- ⚠️ Grammatical errors or poor Czech
How to Protect Yourself?
- ✅ Never click on suspicious links in SMS messages
- ✅ Only log in through the official website: https://www.mojedatovaschranka.cz
- ✅ Carefully check the SMS sender. Scammers can spoof the phone number or sender name, so be cautious even with messages that appear "official."
